Mr. Kittredge brings many years of experience with BASIS Charter Schools to his role as Head of School at BASIS Phoenix. He started with BASIS Charter Schools in 2006 as a teacher at BASIS Tucson, moving to BASIS Tucson North when it opened in 2012. He subsequently transitioned from teacher into the role of College Counselor and Senior Project Coordinator. In 2015, he moved to BASIS Chandler and served as Director of Student Affairs and as Director of Academic Programs. Mr. Kittredge earned a BA in Drama from Dartmouth College, an MA in Theatre Studies from The University of Arizona, and an MEd in Educational Leadership from Arizona State University.
Kelsey Hatcher joined the BASIS Charter Schools network in 2017. She started in the Operations Department and was soon promoted to oversee the Procurement Department while also carrying the title of Risk Manager and single-handedly oversaw the network’s insurance portfolio.
Born and raised in Canada, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Northern British Columbia and earned a Master’s of Global Business degree from the University of Victoria.
Kelsey is delighted to be a part of the team at BASIS Phoenix as Head of Operations and is looking forward to working closely with the teachers, staff, and families to maintain an environment that helps our students excel.
Ms. Mumaw joined BASIS Phoenix in its inaugural year, 2012 after earning her Master’s degree in Psychology in Education from ASU. Prior to her role as Director of Academic Programs, Ms. Mumaw served as the Director of Student Affairs, providing academic support to students and assisting them in organization. Her years on campus, as both Dean and Director of Student Affairs (and running the American Sign Language club), has allowed her to get to know BASIS Phoenix students, and she looks forward to working with the students and teachers in her role as Director of Academic Programs.
Susan Slayton joined BASIS Phoenix as a science and math teacher in 2012. In addition to her time in the classroom, she has been a mentor for new teachers helping them integrate into the BASIS Charter Schools environment. She has a solid understanding of how to support middle school students to ensure they are successful in the upper school program. She has taught students for over 27 years and considers her work in education to be a lifelong commitment to learning and self-discovery. She finds joy in watching students grow and teachers develop their craft and looks forward to her role as Director of Student Affairs.
Susan earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University and Master’s in Education from Montclair State University in New Jersey.
