Ms. Ramos has been a dedicated leader within BASIS Charter Schools since 2012. After two successful years at BASIS Scottsdale as the Special Education Coordinator and Upper School Director, Ms. Ramos took the same role at BASIS Mesa in 2014 before transitioning to Head of School and successfully expanding the school to kindergarten through grade 12. Ms. Ramos shortly left BASIS Mesa for a year and served as Head of School at BASIS Phoenix South Primary. She is very happy to be back “home” at BASIS Mesa now serving the BASIS community for over 9 years. She graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Special Education and MA in Curriculum and Instruction, while also completing coursework for her second MA in Education Administration.
Tyler Williams brings significant depth of experience in management and administration to BASIS Mesa, having transitioned to charter school operations from career pursuits in the construction operations and healthcare administration sectors. Having previously held positions of Vice President of Administration and Vice President of Construction Operations, he appreciates the team-oriented environment, the focus on achievement and the high degree of professionalism inherent at BASIS. Being the son of a career elementary school teacher, Mr. Williams gained an early appreciation for educators and the rigor with which they pursue their craft. Mr. Williams completed his undergraduate education at Graceland University in Iowa prior to returning to Arizona to begin his career.
Mr. Lester joins the team at BASIS Mesa following 7 years of teaching 5th grade and AP Geography at BASIS Scottsdale. In that time, he had served as the 5th grade faculty mentor and the network-wide Subject Advisor for both courses. He is eager to apply his classroom knowledge and leadership experience to support our students and teachers working through a successful experience in the rigorous BASIS upper school curriculum.
Mrs. Westberg is the Director of Primary Programs at BASIS Mesa, where she oversees the Academic and Student Affairs departments for grades K–4. She joined the BASIS Charter Schools network in 2017, working at BASIS Phoenix Central (K–5). Later, she transferred to BASIS Chandler Primary South (K–4). Her experience at BASIS Charter Schools includes serving in the following roles: Curriculum Coordinator, Dean of Students, and Director of Student Affairs. She is excited to bring her knowledge of multiple departments to the BASIS Mesa campus. Mrs. Westberg has extensive experience working as a supportive leader for diverse populations of youth of all ages. Prior to joining the BASIS Charter Schools family, she worked as a child safety specialist for the state and as a manager for a residential behavioral facility serving at-risk youth. Mrs. Westberg is a proud alumna of the University of Arizona, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
Ms. Hackett began working for BASIS Mesa in 2018 as the Dean of Students for 5th-8th grade. Prior to joining BASIS Charter Schools, she worked in the public school system for more than 8 years teaching math. In her role as the Director of Student Affairs, her goal is to continue to support the students academically, socially, and emotionally while constantly keeping the positive family-like culture here at BASIS Mesa.
Ms. Hackett graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BA in Human Services Business Management and MA in Elementary Education.
