Since its founding in 2013, BASIS Mesa has been known for being extraordinary. Our campus sits atop the old GM Proving Grounds—formerly 40 miles of asphalt laid down in 1953 in the middle of the Sonoran Desert as a test track for some of the fastest, most remarkable vehicles on Earth. After closing in 2009, that piece of desert was developed into the innovation and technology hub that is now Eastmark—currently the sixth fastest-growing community in the country—and home to our beautiful K–12 campus.
