Katie Cox joined the BASIS network in 2014 at the Mesa campus as a Science and Math Subject Expert Teacher. She taught math and science for four years, before moving into an administration role as the Dean of Primary in July 2018. She later moved up to the Director of Academics Program overseeing the academics of the entire K-12 campus. Katie was then promoted to the Head of Operations role at the Mesa campus. This position allowed her the opportunity to understand the complexity of all workings parts of a school. During this time, she remained the DAP Subject Admin Mentor advising other Directors throughout the network on best practices with regards to academics.
She recently accepted the position of Head of School with Chandler Primary – South, and is ecstatic to be joining the community and to become a Bobcat Cub! Katie is a Teach for America alumni, and has a BS in Biology, along with a M. Ed in Curriculum and Instruction. She is excited to continue her focus on strong family relationships and rigorous academics within her new community.
Mel is thrilled to join BASIS Chandler Primary South administration as Head of Operations. She worked as a Head of Operations at BASIS Mesa and Director of Operations at BASIS Tucson North before joining us. Mel graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Business Administration.
Sarah Hubalik is the Director of Academic Programs at BASIS Chandler Primary South. She started out with BASIS Curriculum Schools as the Curriculum Coordinator at BASIS Chandler. Prior to coming to BASIS Chandler, she worked in higher education for six years. Sarah earned her BS in Interdisciplinary Studies in Public Management from Northern Arizona University and is working on her Masters in Nonprofit Management from Our Lady of the Lake University.
Brittania McCarron joined the BASIS Curriculum Schools network in 2016 as a Dean of Students at BASIS Ahwatukee before transitioning to Director of Student Affairs at BASIS Chandler Primary- South Campus. As Director of Student Affairs, Brittania is excited to grow the school’s positive culture centered around student success.
Prior to joining BASIS Curriculum Schools, Brittania spent 9 years in the classroom as a Special Education Teacher. She also served as a Mentor Teacher and District Liaison. Brittania earned a BA in Special Education from Arizona State University.
