Education: BA in Secondary Education and Spanish with a minor in History from University of Arizona; MA in Language, Reading and Culture from University of Arizona; MA in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University
Related Experience: I mentored bilingual high students for the Annual University of Arizona Corrido Writing Contest, and mentored three 1st place winners, one 3rd place winner, and 52 honorable mentions in four years. Additionally, I was a high school football coach, a high school track coach, and a student council advisor. I have helped coach 11 kids to the college level.
Hobbies/Interests: Running, reading, and going to sporting events.

Elke Duncan

Head of Operations

Mrs. Duncan joined BASIS in 2015 and has many years of experience in school administration as well as teaching. She holds a Master’s in Education from the University of Regensburg, Germany, in German literature and geography. Her experience prior to working at BASIS was in language immersion schools in Germany as well as Arizona.

Carlos Gantchoff

Carlos Gantchoff was an elementary school teacher for 11 years. Prior to that he owned an academic summer camp. He graduated from Arizona State University with Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, summa cum laude.

Position: Academics Programs Coordinator

Education: BS (in progress) in Biochemistry; BA (in progress) in Spanish Literature from Arizona State University
Related Experience: I am a BASIS Tucson alum and have been working for BASIS charter schools for the past four years as a front office aide, tutor, and student teacher.
Hobbies/Interests: I love traveling, spending time with my family, hiking with my dog, and playing bingo.
