After an extensive corporate career, Mrs. Thompson joined BASIS in 2013. Her initial assignment was to open the first BASIS school in San Antonio, Texas. She then moved to the Scottsdale BASIS.ed headquarters to take on the leadership of Human Resources. Her next assignment was as the founding Head of School at BASIS Independent Brooklyn. Returning to Arizona, she opened and led the BASIS Chandler Primary South Campus for two years. Mrs. Thompson took over the BASIS Phoenix Central location in June of 2017.
Mrs. Borie comes to BASIS Phoenix Central’s staff with over a decade of experience in school administration and foreign language immersion programs. She holds a M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Supervision, a B.S. in Business Management, a Minor in French and a Certificate in International Business, all from Arizona State University. Her experience prior to working as a school administrator was in the banking and computer industries.
An Arizona native, Mr. Anderson attended Arizona State University where he earned a bachelor of arts as a dual major in Psychology and Political Science. He started his career in education 12 years ago as a behavioral director for a school network that supported students with emotional disabilities. In the Summer of 2014, Mr. Anderson became the Dean of Students for BASIS Flagstaff, grades 3rd – 12th, enjoying the cool summers and snow peaked mountains. However, this year he became the Director of Student Affairs for BASIS Phoenix Central, where he could help support the school in being one of the best in all of the BASIS Curriculum Schools. In his free time he enjoys riding his motorcycle, rooting for the Arizona Cardinals, completing his Master’s in Educational Psychology and spending time with his family.
Matt Moran is the Director or Academic Programs at BASIS Phoenix Central. Mr. Moran is entering his third year with BASIS Schools. He joined BASIS Phoenix Central during the 2015-2016 school year after having helped BASIS Goodyear open its doors. He graduated with a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York, College at Buffalo. He has over two decades of experience as a teacher of history and administrator working in both New York and his native Arizona. He has served as Principal, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, IB Coordinator, and History Department Chair. Additionally, he has worked with several curricula: Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and the NY State Regents.
