Eileen moved from Illinois to Arizona in order to attend the University of Arizona. There she earned her PhD in Soil, Water, and Environmental Science with a focus on Soil Microbiology. She worked as an Environmental Consultant conducting habitat assessments and native plant preservation analyses before beginning her teaching career. Eileen has taught 5th grade science, AP Environmental Science, and 8th grade Biology at BASIS. She was also honored to teach a Medical Science course at BASIS Oro Valley in conjunction with the Telemedicine Department of the University of Arizona. After revising the 5th grade Science curriculum, Eileen was recruited as the Curriculum Coordinator for the K-4 Program where she developed the science curriculum and coordinated the development of the other K-4 subject areas.
Bill Kipling is the Head of Operations at BASIS Oro Valley Primary. He was a classroom teacher for fourteen years before coming to BASIS. Bill has coached various youth sports for over twenty years. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona and holds a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s in Elementary Education.
Jennifer Ramirez is a proud Tucson native. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and her master’s degree from Arizona State University in Educational Leadership. She started her teaching career in bilingual schools in Cuernavaca, Mexico. She moved back to her hometown and has taught in both charter and public schools in Tucson for over 10 years. In 2014, she helped open up BASIS Oro Valley Primary as a Learning Expert Teacher. The next year she transitioned into the Dean of Students position and in 2017 became the Director of Student Affairs. She feels honored and excited to be in a position where she can come to work each day with a team of dedicated teachers and caring and supportive parents to help support our enthusiastic and eager learners!
Emery grew up in Arizona and attended Northern Arizona University. After college, she joined Teach For America and taught third grade in San Antonio, Texas. In 2014, she started her career with BASIS at the Phoenix Central campus as a first grade Learning Expert Teacher. She then transitioned to Director of Student Affairs at BPC and now Director of Academic Programs in Oro Valley.
