Ms. Jones joined BASIS Goodyear in June 2016 as the Director of Student Affairs. She brings more than 20 years of experience in education as teacher, administrator, leadership, curriculum designer and facilitator in both California and Arizona. She has earned advanced degrees in both Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Leadership from California State University, Bakersfield and is looking forward to defending her doctoral degree in late spring from Grand Canyon University.
After completing a BA in Economics at St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont, Michael moved to Colorado and began a ten-year career with ABF Freight System, Inc. Moving quickly up the corporate ladder, he had the opportunity to explore various aspects of a major corporation before assuming the role of Branch Manager in Billings, Montana, and then in Tucson, Arizona. He was primarily responsible for offering global supply chain solutions to a broad base of international customers. His passion for kids and his wife’s introduction led him to launch a new career with BASIS Charter Schools. As a Director of Operations, he was Instrumental in the successful opening of BASIS Oro Valley. He was then offered the opportunity to serve as the Head of Operations at BASIS Goodyear.
Originally from Ohio, Ms. Kistler moved to Arizona shortly after completing her BA in Human Health and Psychology from Bowling Green State University. During her 4 years at BGSU, she worked with students as a Resident and Academic Advisor where she developed a passion for mentoring students while fostering a desire to learn and grow. Ms. Kistler began her BASIS career working in a variety of roles at BASIS Phoenix in August 2012. She joined BASIS Goodyear in January 2016 as the Director of Academic Programs. When not working, she is found studying for her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling with an Emphasis in Childhood and Adolescence Disorders.
